First Week Home

Well we have been home now for a little over a week and what a week it has been! Thankfully we are all on USA time now. It was tough for the first week with little Katie thinking daytime was nighttime after both Joe and I got used to the time zone. We have been working on getting her on a schedule that works for all of us as well as transitioning her to US formula. So far the schedule and formula transition are going pretty well. She does wake up one time a night for a bottle anywhere from 11:30PM to 3AM and we are going to start weaning her off of that soon (please pray that we are successful with that).

We are very happy that she seems to be adjusting very well overall and does seem to be bonding with us. She greets us every morning with a smile (after the wake up cry) and smiles at us a lot and laughs a lot (though this is exceptionally hard to capture on film). On Sunday she reached out for me for the first time while Joe was holding her which just melted my heart. She loves her daddy very much and has been bonding well with him. She is happiest when both of us are in the room together so it has been a bit hard that Joe had to return to work right away after returning from Taiwan but she is getting used to his absences during the day now.

Later this week Joe's mom is coming for a visit so Katie will get to meet her Grandma Mary for the first time and the week after that my dad, his fiance and her son, his mother, my brother and two sisters are also coming so she will get to meet even more family. Then a few weeks after that my mom and her husband will come and visit and my best friend and her husband will also come. Lot's of visits for baby Katie. Good thing she is social and loves people!

Here are a couple pictures we have taken of her this past week, none of which she is smiling in as she is not fond of the camera. We bought this little traditional outfit for her in Taiwan for her 6 month birthday. It is still a little bit big!
